Ritchie Wharf Park

Built on the banks of the Miramichi River, this shipbuilding park is a great place to stop to enjoy a warm summer day. Masts rise out of a wooden boardwalk where you can stroll along the waterfront, visit the shops featuring hand-made souvenirs or enjoy a delicious meal. The kids can stay busy at the natuical-themed playground or cool off on the splash pad! Docking and launching facilities are available.

A Visitor Information Centre was in the past located in the Murray House (circa 1826).
Other amenities include ample parking, picnic area and public washrooms.

Historic Lord Beaverbrook House

The childhood home of William Maxwell Aitken also known as Lord Beaverbrook, a great benefactor to the province of New Brunswick, especially the Miramichi.
Guided tours are available from May to the end of August.

St. Michael's Museum & Genealogical Center

St. Michael's Museum houses an archives and genealogical center, museum and religious education office.
Since its construction in 1846 by Father John Sweeney, the original rectory for St. Michael's Parish has been an Episcopal residence, Chatham's first Hotel Dieu Hospital, and St. Joseph's Preparatory School for Boys.
In the early 1860's, it housed St. Michael's Male Academy, and it is thus the cradle of St. Thomas University.

Rankin House Museum

The Rankin House Museum is home to a large collection of artifacts, photographs and memorabilia relating to early life in New Brunswick.
The house was originally built in 1837 and has been restored to include three floors.
Open June to September.

Miramichi Natural History Association Museum

The Miramichi Natural History Association Museum is the oldest museum of its kind in New Brunswick, and perhaps the third oldest in Canada. Displays include insects, animals, rocks, minerals and prehistoric artifacts.

Matchett's Farm

The Matchett Farm is located in Cassilis, 6 miles upriver from the City of Miramichi. The farm uses horses for family wagon rides. demonstrations of Horse Pulling contests and horse hauling.

There is an opportunity to horseback ride and participate in many other farm activities that are fun for everyone.

Miramichi Salmon Conservation Centre

The Miramichi Salmon Conservation Centre (MSCC) is the oldest operating Atlantic salmon hatchery in Canada. Located in South Esk, New Brunswick, the facility is only 5km west of the City of Miramichi. The first buildings and ponds were constructed in 1873 and Atlantic salmon eggs were collected for incubation that year. The MSCC has operated continuously since that time growing both speckled trout and Atlantic salmon.

Priceville Suspension Bridge

Located on Southwest Miramichi River at Priceville. South end of bridge is approximately 3.5 km off Rte. 8. Turn off Rte. 8 at New Bandon on to the Holt Road then right on to the Carroll's Crossing Road.

This spectacular 190-metre-long suspension (“swinging) Footbridge spans the mystical waters of the Miramichi River joining the communities of Priceville and McNamee near Doaktown.

Local Farmers Market on Friday’s.
A year round market for a “taste of the river”
Every Friday Time: 10:00 am - 2:00 pm at the Lindon Recreation Centre. Place: Beside the Miramichi Civic Centre at 487 King George Hwy.

For many years, this Farmers Market has been a crowd-pleaser with vendors of fresh fruit and vegetables, meat’s, flowers, cheese, bakery items, local crafts, holiday decorations, home cooking, homemade jams & preserves, quilts, knitting and much more.
